Spurious ship reported through my station
« on: 07 September, 2014, 06:05:12 pm »
I have an AIS station set up on San Francisco Bay.  It appears to be reporting the location of a ship at the location of the station, on land.

Well, I looked out my window, and there is no 9 meter high speed craft in the back yard (or anywhere nearby).  The craft has been reported there for around a week.

Any ideas?  Vesselfinder web page seems not to display it, but marinetraffic, and my stream, do.

It's allegedly underway at  37.87635° / -122.4458
MMSI: 265000000
Call Sign: SFD2180
Flag: Sweden (SE)
AIS Type: High Speed Craft

AHA.  A light bulb glimmers.

I went to look at the manual for my SR162 receiver.  The original author is Swedish.  Following the lead, the SR162's AIVDO MMSI is this ship I am "seeing".  Okay, time to reprogram or filter it out.  There must be a way to do that on AISDispatcher...
