Test data sought for msg 1-3 "communication state"
« on: 04 January, 2015, 11:55:37 am »
I am going to extend my Java based decoder (https://github.com/tbsalling/aismessages) so that it can decode the "Communication State" field in message types 1, 2, and 3 as defined in ITU-R M.1371-5,  Annex 2, ยง 3.3.7.2.1, p. 46ff.

This is rather complex, as it involves a number of new sub-message types to represent  "received stations", "slot number", "UTC hour and minute" and "slot offset" in addition to the common "sync state" and "slot time-out" fields.

Does anyone have any validated pairs of NMEA-strings and decoded values, that I can use to test new the software against?

Thank you in advance!

/Thomas.

You can find samples of many of the messages in the test code in gpsd, which also includes an AIS message parser.
